34R McKenzi

McKenzi is looking great in her standings at this point in the TQRA Summer Series. She is currently sitting in 2nd place in both the Mini Stock Class and Sr. Mini Class. Keep riding hard, McKenzi! Love you, miss you, and can't wait to see you on Friday xoxo

Polka-dotted Puppy

It's official... we have a polka-dotted puppy. She went for her first grooming on Monday and came back with dots all over her. Koli has always had the one big spot on her eye and some little spots on her ears but now they are all over. I think she is adorable!

R U Ready to Rumble

We are heading out to TQRA's summer series Round 9 at North 40 Cycle Ranch. It should prove to be a lot of fun and certainly "blazing hot". We are excited to see McKenzi for the weekend since she has been in Midland with her dad for about four weeks. McKenzi is looking forward to the TQRA carnival which will take place after Saturday's practice. I know she really wants to pie Rick and especially the quad pro, Johnny Hale. Hey, McKenzi, you might just ask for an extra pie to get your mechanics. Watch out, Mike! It will be lots of fun for the kids. That's really what TQRA is all about.

Silly Girl

McKenzi's favorite past time is taking pictures with my phone. She is often in the backseat of the car just snapping away. I never really pay attention to what she is taking pictures of. Up until now, I haven't had the time to upload any pictures from my phone to the computer. This morning I figured out how to do this and found it quite entertaining to see what McKenzi had been up to. I thought I would share a few!

Let Freedom Ring

Hope everyone is enjoying the fourth of July. We are looking forward to an enjoyable day off and spending the weekend with Kelly's mom, dad, and sister. They are going to spend a few days here with us and visit the sites of OKC.

New Beginnings

Well, I thought I would try my hand at this blogging thing. Seems like everyone is doing it. I've recently had some new friends send me links to their blogs, and I think it is a really neat way for friends and family to keep in touch. Since we now live so far away from our family and most of our friends, this will be a convenient way to keep everyone up to date on our current happenings. I really can't believe I'm doing this since I don't like to write, so I will probably use it mostly for posting pictures and updates of our racing...which tends to be what we do most of the time.

Last weekend, McKenzi raced in Fletcher, OK at Ridgeline MX. She had a bit of bad luck because out of the four motos she raced... one she broke down and one she stalled out. She is still doing well in her over-all standings for the season and is third in her Stock 90 class and in the top five of her Sr. Mini class for the Texoma Quad Racing Association (TQRA). We have met some great people at the track and are building some life-long friendships. It's hard to believe that McKenzi would actually enjoy doing this because she doesn't really like to sweat or get dirty for that matter, but she loves going out there. She surprises me sometimes at how competitive she can be. She's really not that way about most other sporting activities. I guess she gets that from her grandaddy!
